Privacy Policy

Effective October 12, 2026 · Version 2026-10-12

STRYD Orthopedics, Inc. (“STRYD”, “we”) is building a wearable for knee health. This policy explains what we collect on strydorthopedics.com, why, and the choices you have. We wrote it to match what the site actually does today.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist

  • Email address, to send your confirmation link and updates.
  • Who you are (one of: parent of a travel or high school athlete, runner or active adult, college or pro athlete, other), your sport (optional, free text), and where you heard about us.
  • Your consent record: that you confirmed you are 18 or older and agreed to this policy and to email updates, the time you did so, and the version of this policy at that time.
  • A first-name guess we derive from your email address (for example “jordan.smith@…” becomes “Jordan”), used only to personalize a greeting. We do not ask for your name. If we can't make a confident guess we use no name.
  • Whether you confirmed your email, and when. Only confirmed signups count as being on the waitlist.

If you accept analytics cookies

Only after you click “Accept” on the cookie banner, we:

  • Remember how you arrived: campaign tags in the link you clicked (UTM parameters), a tracked-link code if you used one of our short links, the page you landed on (path only), and the website you came from (host name only). We keep this in your browser for up to 30 days and attach it to your signup if you join.
  • Use PostHog to measure which pages are viewed, what is clicked, how far videos are watched, and where people get stuck on the form. This includes session replays with every text box and form input masked, so what you type is not recorded. PostHog also receives your IP address, which it uses to estimate your approximate location (such as country or region) for our reports. We do not send your email address to PostHog.

If you click “Decline”, none of the above is loaded or stored, and the form still works. You can change your choice any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

Always, regardless of your choice

  • A salted hash of your IP address to limit repeated submissions, kept for about two hours. We do not store your raw IP address ourselves for this. Our hosting provider may keep ordinary server logs, and PostHog receives your IP address only if you accept analytics cookies (see above).
  • Click counts on our short links, with no personal information (no IP address, no browser details), and with obvious bots flagged.
  • Settings stored in your browser for the site to work: your cookie choice and your light/dark theme choice.

If you use the contact form

The “Get in Touch” form on the home page collects the details you type (name, email, phone, organization, role, message). It is handled by Netlify Forms and is used only to reply to you.
